The Leather
Our U.S.-sourced oil tanned leather is incredibly easy to care for. With time and use, the natural oils in the leather will rise to the surface, developing a beautiful patina and smoothing any scuffs or scratches that may have accumulated. Learn more about caring for your new leather product.
Our full-grain leather is the strongest and most durable available, and the unique texture and natural imperfections from the cow’s life have not been sanded, cut or shaved off. Full-grain is SIX times stronger than Buffed, Upholstery or Genuine leather.
Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.

'Almost Perfect' Laptop Backpack
This tall and slim-profile leather backpack was designed with the minimalist in mind. This backpack is perfect for the necessities, which might include files, folders, and a tablet or 13" laptop (based on MacBook Pro dimensions). Includes a large front zipper pocket, small interior pocket and buckle strap-adjustment system.
No two PLG bags are alike! Please note: it is normal for all of our products, including Premium items, to have unique variations and character markings that are inherent to natural full-grain leather. Pebbled leathers are achieved naturally and not artificially pressed. Due to leather thickness, measurements may vary slightly. Color may also have subtle variations from batch-to-batch.

Lava is beautiful! beautiful appearance , slim but fits a lot . Deceptively slim. Fits my work laptop, iPad, both chargers, my agenda / planning book, files, notebook, wallet and phone. I found the e straps to be adjustable and fairly comfortable despite a heavy load.

I am new to Portland Leather, however within three weeks I've ordered 4 items and love them all! The latest was an "almost perfect" laptop backpack and I cannot find the "almost" part! It looks and feels perfect to me, and I am so happy I took a chance on it! The color is gorgeous, size is just right, and it is absolutely beautiful! Now I can't decide what to order next, as I love everything I've gotten so far!
