Our Full-Grain Leather
Our oil tanned leather is incredibly easy to care for. With time and use, the natural oils in the leather will rise to the surface, developing a beautiful patina and smoothing any scuffs or scratches that may have accumulated. Learn more about caring for your new leather product.
Our full-grain leather is the strongest and most durable available, and the unique texture and natural imperfections from the cow’s life have not been sanded, cut or shaved off. Full-grain is SIX times stronger than Buffed, Upholstery or Genuine leather.
Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.

Just received my Lagoon mini crossbody. The leather has a lot of variations, on one side of the front pocket it is completely smooth. First I didn't like it, but now the more I look at it, I totally fell in love with it. It has a lot of pull-up, and so much character. I would probably only buy Almost Perfect, as these bags are so unique! Lagoon is my favorite leather, so squishy!

I just received my Large Charlotte in Beluga. It’s absolutely gorgeous! Exceeded my expectations entirely. I wanted a bag in Beluga but had missed the boat last time. I’m always looking for a pretty light neutral and the plain bone is just okay (the dragon bone is lovely). When I saw the new Charlotte with the basket weave design I loved it immediately. When I saw it in Beluga, I knew it was the one! The variations in Beluga shine with the basket weave. The brass pines on the front elevate the bag. Looking forward to purchasing a small Charlotte in either Honey or Pine. (For size reference, the photo shows a 10 oz travel mug & sunglasses. It’s about the same size as my Rainstorm Bag. The other shows the gray contrasting a chantilly white painted wall.)

I love the design of this purse, and I love the Mamey color. It's a soft, supple leather and the color is so unique. I was so excited about this bag...until I flipped it over and found the large spot on the back. This is by far the least perfect of the Almost Perfect items I have purchased. I'm so disappointed to see such a large stain on the leather. I'll be returning it because this is not something that will become less noticeable with patina.

I saw this bag and decided to take a chance on it. I am really glad I did. The basket weave design on this bag is stunning and Jacaranda is a beautiful periwinkle color. I sew and purchased material to make a summer blouse to go with it! I purchased the small bag and took it shopping today. It is definitely too small for what I needed to carry. I should have bought the large. That said, it is beautiful and I can use it for a lighter carry. This bag doesn't get enough attention. I suggest you place it on the 1st page of the CB section and offer it in more colors PLEASE! It really is lovely 😍
Ordered this for my sister in AP jacaranda as she loves periwinkle. She loves smaller bags and this was just the right size for her. Love the structure and style. She loves it!
Purchased this as the small jacaranda for my sister. She absolutely loves it! It was the almost perfect so there were some spots where the dye process wasn’t uniform on the leather but it honestly just gives so much character to the whole bag! Will definitely purchase from Portland leather again!
Beautiful just right size.
I received the item in a short time, and the item came to me with no damage to the leather, even though I got the AP. The picture of the color doesn't do justice. The shading is more purple than blue. The small is going to be the perfect size for me. I am in love with it, and it is a very durable purse. love all the products that I was looking at, but this purse was calling to me, and I am so happy that I chose this one.
