Our Full-Grain Leather
Our oil tanned leather is incredibly easy to care for. With time and use, the natural oils in the leather will rise to the surface, developing a beautiful patina and smoothing any scuffs or scratches that may have accumulated. Learn more about caring for your new leather product.
Our full-grain leather is the strongest and most durable available, and the unique texture and natural imperfections from the cow’s life have not been sanded, cut or shaved off. Full-grain is SIX times stronger than Buffed, Upholstery or Genuine leather.
Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.
SMALL: Great for those that travel light on the daily – it can fit a water bottle, snacks, book, wallet, and sunglasses comfortably. Measures 11” wide across the bottom, 13” wide across the top, 4.5” deep and 11.5” tall.
MEDIUM: Can fit a water bottle, snacks, a book, wallet, sunglasses and a 13” Macbook snugly. Measured 11.5” wide across the bottom, 15” wide across the top, 5.5” deep, and 12” tall.
LARGE: Fits a water bottle, snacks, book, wallet, sunglasses, back-up shirt, and a 15” Macbook snugly. Measures 13” wide across the bottom, 18” wide across the top, 6” deep, and 12” tall.
OVERSIZED: Fits all that plus a pair of jeans and a larger laptop comfortably. Measures 14” wide across the bottom, 21” wide across the top, 6” deep, and 13” tall.
The drop length for all of our handles is 10.5” regardless of the size of the tote, and suits most!

Just received my Lagoon mini crossbody. The leather has a lot of variations, on one side of the front pocket it is completely smooth. First I didn't like it, but now the more I look at it, I totally fell in love with it. It has a lot of pull-up, and so much character. I would probably only buy Almost Perfect, as these bags are so unique! Lagoon is my favorite leather, so squishy!

OS and Small totes in Wisteria

I ordered the OS Zip tote and the Small Classic tote both in Wisteria. Purple is my favorite color and I love the pebbled leather in Wisteria. I got the OS tote in the zip so that I actually have a tote that zips closed for traveling since I travel for work frequently. I actually prefer the totes in the classic style without the zip just because I prefer the way they look. I wish the zipper was attached the way the zippers in the mini crossbody totes or the Lola are attached. I actually love the Small classic tote as a daily carry. I was afraid it was going to be larger than what I would prefer. I try to limit myself to bags the size of the mini CB so that I am not tempted to overload the bag and make it too heavy. The handles on the Small tote are just the right length for carrying on my shoulder and make the bag quite comfortable - a new favorite!

Durango is beautiful

I love my Durango almost perfect medium classic tote! I went back and forth on getting it and am so glad that I did. Durango is a deep chocolatey brown with some red undertones (I don’t think the red in Durango is as prominent as in Cognac). The leather is smooth and soft. I love this tote - I use it regularly and the medium comfortably fits a Bozeman wallet, a utility, and a few notebooks and books. I love this bag for running errands or for bringing to a coffee shop to get work done.

Medium Bone tote, with Tandles! Moved out of my Rainstorm for this, I would say for my first time with classic no Zip it is a great bag! I am learning more about my preferences I think long term I will be a Zip probably cross body, more than tote. Having said that I really like the size and love the color! This is definitely a keeper!

I ordered the Durango limited edition tote after receiving a small dopp in Durango in a MB. I just had to have a bag in this leather. It's so delicious and soft and smells so good. Super happy with this purchase. And grizzly handles. 🤌🏻

I own several Medium Zip Totes from PLG. It's the perfect size for me! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Orchid color, which is odd because I don't normally purchase red/pink colors. I was worried but when i received the tote I was ecstatic over the color! Buy it, you won't regret it!
I bought the medium koala bag in the same embossed leather and love it, but it's a little too small for my daily work commute. I decided to get the small leather tote in the same leather and it's perfect. Big enough for all my day to day stuff with a little extra room in case I need to throw in a notebook or drink, but small enough that it feels more purse-like than tote bag. I really appreciate the zipper for security and the exterior pocket is deep enough that I don't have to worry about things falling out.
I absolutely love this bag! I got the size medium with the zipper in the color nutmeg. The quality, the material, the size, and the feel of the bag is top notch. It’s a great tote bag for an everyday pocketbook or a bag to hold your school materials (laptop, books, notebook etc.). I also love how the genuine leather will heal itself if you accidentally scratch it on something! If your thinking about getting this bag, get it. I don’t have a single complaint or regret, 10/10!
I love this large PLG zipper tote in Nutmeg. I have other PLG totes that are oversized with zipper that I love but thought I would try a smaller version of it. Amazing! I just ordered 2 more.
I waited for several months with a specific type of brown leather tote in mind. I shopped at many different online and in person stores...my search ultimately continued until: someone told me about the Portland Leather Co. I made a mental note and forgot to follow-up. Then I saw an advertisement. It was love at first sight! I was so excited to finally make it to the website and find this bag! I have the oversized Classic Cold Brew. LOVE IT.
