The Leather
Our U.S.-sourced oil tanned leather is incredibly easy to care for. With time and use, the natural oils in the leather will rise to the surface, developing a beautiful patina and smoothing any scuffs or scratches that may have accumulated. Learn more about caring for your new leather product.
Our full-grain leather is the strongest and most durable available, and the unique texture and natural imperfections from the cow’s life have not been sanded, cut or shaved off. Full-grain is SIX times stronger than Buffed, Upholstery or Genuine leather.
Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.

I could not identify what made these qualify as almost perfect out of the box. They looked pristine to me! But hey I suppose that's why I'm not a QC person for PLG. Anyway, fit was pretty good right off. My feet are a little wider than normal, and I was surprised to find these loafers are just fine for slightly wider feet. But they definitely squeezed my toes during normal walking. I had to stretch out the toe box a bit. I used a wooden spoon to focus on the specific areas in the toes that needed extra stretching to speed up the process. Once I got them broken in they have been awesome. I was very tough on them this week on a California vacation and they're wearing in really nicely. I'm very happy to have a quality pair of easy-on easy-off leather loafers to kick around in! The photos were taken on Morro Rock two days ago, scrambling around the stony beach. I think I saw a review that mentioned the soles being slippery, that wasn't the case for mine so they must have addressed that issue. The color is really versatile and lovely. 100% my new go-to shoe!
Tldr: get the almost perfects, don't size up, break out the wooden spoon and leather conditioner to stretch out any tight spots and you're golden!
These might be the prettiest shoes I've ever owned. I got the nutmeg color, which is lovely and rich. They felt a little tight when they arrived, but I'm halfway through my first day wearing them to work and they already feel pretty comfortable.
I was really impressed with the quality of these loafers. The leather is beautiful and the color goes with everything. However, it's really clear that these shoes need some time to break in and stretch out. I haven't found them to be terribly comfortable straight out of the box, so I'm wearing them on short trips only for the moment!
Ordered the nutmeg in 8 1/2 . Such a rich color. I always seem to gravitate towards nutmeg. The size was a little snugger than other styles of patina that I own, I think I would’ve been a little more comfy in a 9 this time. But all in all, good quality shoe, beautiful color.

Beautiful, comfortable shoes! Originally ordered my usual size (8.5), but exchanged for an 8 as they were very slightly big and feel like they’ll stretch a bit. The 8 fits perfectly with thin socks or bare feet. Ordered AP, but they look/feel pretty perfect to me.
