I purchased this strap because I carry my medium cross body bag with the strap buckled in the last hole. I thought it would be nice to be able to extend the length during the winter over sweaters and coats. What I didn’t realise is that it can also be used as a short shoulder strap as well which can be attached with a loop or with a hook on the long strap. I like it.
I’m 5’7” and prefer crossbody bags to hit low on my hip. The extender strap is set on the FIRST hole and provides enough length for me!
Extender strap is good for me on my mini cb. I’m 5’5.5 and just wanted a little more length on the hip. Works for me!
I bought this to make a shorter strap for my drawstring bucket bag. It worked perfect for my purposes. I chose grizzly to contrast the color of the bag.
l prefer a loooooong strap! The circle crossbody was too short for my liking. At the suggestion on a purse friend l ordered the extender strap, removed (cut) one of the straps off of the circle bag , clipped the extender on, attached the two and viola! perfect! l don't think they encourage you to do this, but it works for me! Someone said the Portland customers are very creative and adept at modifying their bags to suit themselves and l agree! l hope they continue to offer this extender strap!
This is one of the absolute best offerings PLGs makes available. This is the way to add straps, modify lengths, and harvest extra hardware for your projects. I wish they made them available in every color. Because I modify the length on every bag, not having them in every color means there are some bags I can't purchase. Regardless, stock up on your favorite color when they're available because they are so versatile!
