Why do you use leather with prominent character marks in the first place?
We only qualify Almost Perfect in terms of cosmetic irregularities that have absolutely no impact on the quality or durability of our products. Rather, we figured that it'd be a shame to waste such beautiful and functional leather, so we decided to sell it at a discounted price.
What type of imperfection will I get with this bag?
Each of our Almost Perfect bags is one of a kind! While we can't say for sure which one you'll receive, some common character marks our customers find are pebbling and color variation, scars and striations, or a stitch out of place. That being said, rest assured that none of these "imperfections" will impact the functionality of the bag in any way!

Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.

Truth: Other than paper grocery store bags, not once in my life had I considered carrying a brown bag until I laid eyes on PLG’s assortment of brown leather. Now I have PLG bags in multiple shades of brown and in multiple leather types—suede, pebbled, smooth, nubuck, slouchy or puddly structure, firm structure, cool tone, warm tone….Yes, I love them! And yes, I use them! My photos show my beautiful Chestnut ‘Almost Perfect’ Classic Devan Bucket Tote. PLG Nala charm and Picasso Tassel add even more beauty! And in case you were wondering, Classic (Small) Devan Tote can hold two half-gallon bottles of milk if your paper or plastic bag breaks.

The classic Devan is one of my favorite PLG bags. It is a fun little carry and can easily hold all of my essentials, plus I can even throw a small water bottle in there. And the chili red is gorgeous!🌶️

Bought a premium large in Chestnut. The color is beautiful, but the bag appears to be dented/damaged (not a natural variation in leather). It’s a very stiff, structured leather (part of this bag’s unique appeal), but that means it’s just stuck like that, dented. There’s also a really strong smell.

The Devan is becoming one of my favorite styles. I love the unique shape, it sits so well on my shoulders, holds several little and is overall easy to use. I always get compliments no matter which color I’m carrying. I recently got the Joni Blue and WOW, the color is stunning and I absolutely love the feel of the suede. The color is turning out to be super versatile.

I purchased the large Devan in Orchid and it is my go-to big bag. The strap length is great for even a tall lady like me (I'm 5'10") and it stays on my shoulders easily. The color is gorgeous in person and suits this style so well. 10/10 would recommend. Maybe I'll get the Classic in suede next...

For my 9/19 birthday my husband ordered (had me to) the Large Koi Devan, and after carrying it for a week , I absolutely love it ! I love it slightly more than my small Devan because I'm a bigger bag kinda girl. It not so big that it's awkward and it doesn't feel like you are carrying a suitcase. The Koi color is just so perfect for Autumn. The Koi is a fully saturated color, it's fun and sassy, but still blends well with my dresses for more serious events. It's just perfect if you love color!!

I never would've bought a bag in madrone but this C-sale beauty changed it all! The deep brown reddish color makes it a classic tote you can use for any occasion. The one pocket makes it convenient. I get a lot of compliments. I've given it as a gift!
My favorite bucket bag

This is my second large Devan bucket tote and I think it's the perfect size. The Cobalt is a great blue. The pebbling makes it soft to the touch but there is still enough structure for the bag to stand up with items in it. This is my go to when I need more space. The picture shows it with a taco, roswell, glass case, water bottle, wallet and hard cover book--and there is still room. The shape fits very comfortably against my body.
