The Leather
Our U.S.-sourced oil tanned leather is incredibly easy to care for. With time and use, the natural oils in the leather will rise to the surface, developing a beautiful patina and smoothing any scuffs or scratches that may have accumulated. Learn more about caring for your new leather product.
Our full-grain leather is the strongest and most durable available, and the unique texture and natural imperfections from the cow’s life have not been sanded, cut or shaved off. Full-grain is SIX times stronger than Buffed, Upholstery or Genuine leather.
Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.

I absolutely LOVE the new Baja color (please make a tote with tandles!!!) I mostly got the new small camera bag to see the color and size. And man it’s tiny. My iPhone 14 Pro Max wouldn’t fit in the outside front pocket in a more structured leather as it stretches the Baja to fit.
I bought the small camera bag in Baja because, well, BAJA! I HAD to try this color. It is AMAZING! Vibrant blue green with the most luxurious pebbles. LOOK at these pebbles! Arrived with a chemical odor that will lessen in time. I dare say I would buy Baja in a larger bag....like a full size crossbody! Fun color for summer! It POPS! and is sooo deliciously squishy!
It is a small bag, essentials-only style and my first of this shape. Cute!

I purchased the small Camera bag in Cinnamon Bear 🐻 I really like my bag. It is small but not too small. I can easily fit all I need. My picture includes the small circle bag I purchased as well. I have not used yet but love the looks of it. I will definitely continue purchasing from Portland Leather!
When I first learned about PLG I looked at all the available styles and decided which style(s) I liked best. That was a year ago. At this point, I’ve purchased all of the styles on the “like” list. I tended to like the bigger bags best. One style that didn’t make the list was the Camera Bag (a year ago it was called the Toaster Bag) because it was “too small”. Over the year, and after purchasing a fscb, a couple of medium cbs, and a couple of Market Totes, I decided to try a Poppy. To my surprise, I loved it! I now have 4 of them. Then I decided to try the Camera Bag, and I REALLY liked it! The one I’m reviewing today is the Cinnamon Bear one. Oh my gosh - Cinnamon Bear is beautiful! And the Camera Bag is now my favorite, and it’s the one I carry daily. I have modified the straps to make them removable, and now they’re perfect! Love them both! And I will have more!
