The Leather
Our U.S.-sourced oil tanned leather is incredibly easy to care for. With time and use, the natural oils in the leather will rise to the surface, developing a beautiful patina and smoothing any scuffs or scratches that may have accumulated. Learn more about caring for your new leather product.
Our full-grain leather is the strongest and most durable available, and the unique texture and natural imperfections from the cow’s life have not been sanded, cut or shaved off. Full-grain is SIX times stronger than Buffed, Upholstery or Genuine leather.
Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.

This was my first PLG purchase. The shape and size seemed similar to one of my favorite styles in a different brand of fabric purses, which is the perfect size for what I carry daily and is easy to access everything. I'm used to lined purses with different pockets so I'm still adjusting to that aspect with PLG, but I love the predicted durability of an all leather bag. When my Eclipse in Cognac first arrived I immediately knew the style would be perfect for carrying everyday. Since the style is being retired, I knew I needed it in Cold Brew to have a darker color option and something more forgiving to scratches before the classic is completely retired. I'm so sad that I only found PLG and the classic Eclipse when this style is being retired, I think I would have bought this in a few more colors. The new larger Eclipse is just a little too tall, not wide enough for a large wallet, and seems big for what I would like. I really like the classic Eclipse outer pockets for keeping things within reach on the go. I bought the Cognac as Premium and Cold Brew as Almost Perfect and they both seem to be excellent quality, though the hardware on the Cold Brew seems a little squeaky, not sure if that's normal or not. Picture is of Cold Brew filled with hand sanitizer, a PLG small zip wallet, and a non-PLG small ID wallet with key fob, keys, and chapstick. Cell phone slides into back pocket when not in use. Recently started using a PLG Bozeman wallet in it to see if I like it since I like the larger wallets to keep my cash unfolded.
I was looking for a versatile bag for everyday. Option to switch out the strap is a plus. Pebbled black is beautiful.
The large size Eclipse purse is perfect! Not too small or too big! Like the zipper to keep everything secure. I have the green and love it! Very versatile. Excellent quality as always!
I wasn't sure I was going to like the style of purse or the color (merlot) - but I loved both. The purse is spacious and I can fit so much into it. It sits close to the body which I Iike, and the merlot is a deep brownish red which is perfect for fall. It really turned me on to the soft brushed leathers. I love it so much that I just bought a second eclipse in aqua.
The Eclipse is a great everyday crossbody. The strap can be removed so you can use it as a clutch and can be carried in a bigger tote. The English Tan is so soft and beautiful. You can’t go wrong with this versatile bag.
