I'm loving my large Bacalar Koala so far! I have a large in Bacalar (omg) and a medium in Bone. I thought the large would feel bulky on my petite frame and it's just right, surprisingly. It's a fun, unique and interesting slight crescent shape and I really like the magnet enclosures as they're easy to maneuver single handedly. This isn't a bag for more than the essentials, as I noticed stuffing it too much makes it look wonky, but for anything bigger my go to is the Lola, a stark contrast shape wise. I like having options. It's a great minimalist option that can be worn multiple ways. Bacalar is just sooo luscious!

First time PLG customer, won't be the last! I wasn't sure if I would like this purse and accessories because I've used an organizer purse (wallet/purse combo) for so long (at least 20 years) but I really do! The leather is beautiful and I love the color! The pictures I've included don't do it justice. It's a vibrant mid to dark blue with maybe a hint of purple. I prefer pebbled leather because it hides scratches better and this one is really nice. It's soft but not too slouchy which is good because I prefer a little more structure. I liked the natural interior too. The shape is so cute! The size is perfect as I prefer a smaller purse and a crossbody is a must for me. This size of the Koala comes with the longer adjustable strap which is perfect because it allows me to wear it crossbody just below my hip which is where I like to wear my purses. I'm 5'4 and I don't have it adjusted out to its full length. I can see why customers of the medium and large might be disappointed with the shorter strap. I would be too. Since I've used an organizer purse for so long I knew I would need to get a small wallet and something to hold all the small items that I like to carry. The interior pocket of this purse accommodates my 6.4" phone (I don't think you could do much larger in the pocket, but you could in the purse) and the main part of the purse easily accommodates the PLG small zip wallet and the seesaw slider pouch (which is the perfect shape for this style purse), keys and a pen with a little room to spare if you needed it. I wasn't sure if I'd like the magnetic closure as I'm used to zipper but I do. It snaps closed securely and nothing falls out when hung upside down. It stays open when I need to access something inside. I'm very, very happy with my purchase and highly recommend!

I have been aware of the existence of PLG and over the last few years specifically have caught wind of their growing popularity; so this last fall I decided to begin my long winded look into who the brand was and what exactly makes them a coveted ‘cult classic’. Honestly at first it was the Naomi that held my attention and stayed in my shopping cart for weeks as I lamented over the money I had only recently spent on a popular designer bag that I had wanted since college. I had no true intention of getting myself another little luxury anytime soon, at least not until I got my cost-per-wear out of it.
And then one December morning I’m finishing show edits and decided to take a quick break and hop on FB — where I was greeted with a simple advert from PLG, but the bag on my screen wasn’t the Naomi. This particular bag was unlike anything I had ever owned but everything I knew I was looking for in a bag. And it was The Koala Sling Bag.
It would still be several months and take that uber expensive designer Speedy bag itself that ultimately tipped me over the edge. One minor cut less than 3/4” on the outside that turned into a puckered back alley sutured eyesore and the more I realized not only was this Speedy not practical (I spearhead a pretty busy and outdoorsy active family + elementary school volunteering at my kids school and I become aware of how corny it gets). It also wasn’t easy to carry and so I removed Naomi from my PLG cart and replaced her with The Kangaroo. But something still wasn’t behaving for me as a full on catalyst…until the new colors debuted. And PINKABOO captivated my core feminine/tired mama who needs both hands free to hug and comfort, scruff shirt collars, carry sports equipment, and write and edit on the go.
The shipping was insanely fast.
The arrival of its iconic box made me viscerally understand the hype of unboxing.
But nothing prepared me for the bag itself.
I wear it around my house for no good reason. Weird piece of info but it speaks volumes (about the bag, hopefully and not my hyper fixation quirks).
The SMELL: In grade school a popular kids crayon company came out with scented crayons, among the scents was LEATHER. I would sit at my desk inhaling that crayon until my teacher snatched it away from me and I never saw it again. But I vowed one day that scent would again be mine. And now I have avenged little me. And have a sweet bag to boot.
The COLOR, characteristics, design: The color is infallible— perfectly pink and evenly dyed. the raw suede inside of the bag makes for a beautiful reminder that two things can coexist and make you feel privileged to have them both. And the design is functional and the SIZE!
I can’t believe I’m about to say this, It’s the PERFECT size (I bought the MEDIUM). The small honestly would have been sufficient for what I carry— an 8” zipper wallet, multiple pens, a small cosmetic bag, a tiny pepper spray, some woo woo Crystals, and on any given day no less than 4 lip products. And keys sometimes. And it fits all of it with room to boast. And the inside pocket is anything but conservative.
It has double circular magnets on the flap to ensure a secure close (and that was unequivocally one of my biggest concerns was just how effective and secure the closure of the bag would be). The magnets magnet. Period.
The strap is unassuming and comfortable.
You can wear it as a crossbody or shorten the strap and wear it higher on your body — your back or torso/chest— and its versatility reinforces its popularity fast.
Literally I have no negative opinions, wait…scratch that… the price maybe.

Because not for nothing but the audacity to price this bag at premium AND offer not one but TWO OTHER IMMEDIATE PURCHASE OPTIONS? Via “Almost Perfect” AND their personal resale marketplace?!
I bought mine premium.
Then I found the resale marketplace— like a secret menu my bank account never needed me to find.
So you really CAN ditch the underwhelming cookie cutter cornball designers and use that same money to get yourself — or someone you love — the perfect bag in a few colors, or try out one that captivates you on a whim.
Whatever you buy from PLG it’s going to be the iconic hyper-fixation that you’ll be happy to indulge.
