What an unsung gem

I was in the market for a proper, full-grain messenger bag for work. After weeks of shopping, I was having a hard time finding the right mix of weight, quality, aesthetic, and price. Then I found the PLG Classic XL and it got top marks in all categories. I adore this bag. Mine is in Canyon, and the pull-up properties are fantastic. Tons of character. If you don't like that immediate feedback on the face of the bag, Dakota or one of the other options might be a better bet. As far as the quality of the bag goes, I couldn't be more satisfied. It's simply a very well made bit of kit. I'm 6'7" and the strap is actually useful. My one complaint is the magnet closures, which I've never preferred, but that's a small drawback on what is overall a great package.
Gorgeous, high-quality bag

I gave this bag as a gift, and the recipient is over the moon! It's high-quality, incredibly beautiful, and he loves every little detail. For being a large, quality leather bag, it's not too heavy. Also, the recipient is very, very tall and the cross-body strap is long enough that the bag sits at a perfect height on his hip. We're both thrilled!
Great bag with one small complaint that can be fixed

My wife purchased this bag for me as a birthday gift about one and a half years ago and it has been great! It fits everything I need to make customer visits and go in and out of the home and office. The only issue I had with it from day 1 was the clasps that secured the shoulder strap to the sides of the bag. Due to the style clasp currently used on this bag, it is very easy for the clasp to unhinge itself while it rests against your side. I had this happen constantly and it was very annoying. I finally bought some lobster-style swivel clasps along with some copper rivets and after removing the stock hardware and installing my little upgrade the bag is now flawless! I would advise that Portland Leather fix this issue as it is an easy one to fix and one that makes this bag go from close to perfect to perfect! Please look at the attached photo of my bag and you will see the upgrade that I made to the shoulder strap hardware.
A beauty

My husband is thrilled with this messenger. It really elevates his style. He has the largest MacBook Pro, and it is a very snug fit in the designated slim laptop pocket, but there is plenty of room for it in the larger pocket. Canyon is a beautiful rugged masculine leather that I expect to age well.
