Almost Perfect items can feature more prominent character marks than our Premium line, and/or small stitching variations, showcasing the aesthetic variety of our natural hides and handmade designs.
Why do you use leather with prominent character marks in the first place?
We only qualify Almost Perfect in terms of cosmetic irregularities that have absolutely no impact on the quality or durability of our products. Rather, we figured that it'd be a shame to waste such beautiful and functional leather, so we decided to sell it at a discounted price.
What type of imperfection will I get with this bag?
Each of our Almost Perfect bags is one of a kind! While we can't say for sure which one you'll receive, some common character marks our customers find are pebbling and color variation, scars and striations, or a stitch out of place. That being said, rest assured that none of these "imperfections" will impact the functionality of the bag in any way!

I have a large classic tote, and while the large August is slightly smaller, I like it much better. Because of its shape, it stays closed all the time, and you can’t see the contents. It holds so much! Love the coldbrew color.

I like a soft handle and the August Tote does not disappoint. I really loved the Market Tote and Montana, but both were a touch small. The August Tote in Midnight Owl is perfection. Great size (my laptop in a sleeve fits) and gorgeous soft leather I a beautiful, muted navy. I am obsessed. The drop is perfect for me (5’7” and XL/1X). I want one more at l ast, maybe Ruby??

I just received my large August Tote in Madrone. It is beautiful. The leather is firm and smooth. The large August Tote is a perfect work bag for me. It holds my laptop and files. The strap handle drop is perfect!
I knew I needed to up my game in a recent trip for work. So I came home with a mission to find a professional leather tote that would hold my “way to big to travel with” work laptop. Finding a bag that would fit this beast took a lot of measuring and searching. I kept coming back to the August tote. My husband had purchased me a Madrone classic Lola, my everyday carry, and I LOVE the leather. I took the leap and ordered this Madrone AP August tote when a purse pal posted a picture of how her madrone leather developed a GORGEOUS patina over time, just through use. Well, I am please to say this bag is WONDERFUL! It holds my work laptop, my notebook, power supplies, and sundry items for a day at the office, smells DIVINE, and I am 100% the polished professional with this lovely bag! Thank you PLG! I look forward to many years to come with this lovely tote!
The large is a great size tote for carrying all of my work essentials plus it looks good too. I see some more totes in my future. :)
August tote is one of my favorite PLG styles. This is my first one in medium and a great size for days that don’t require so many “things”
I am admittedly an August addict and this chocolatey bag is truly PERFECT! I had to double check my order to make sure I ordered AP and not premium. I love it! If you are holding back on August for any reason, check one out- you won’t be sorry!!
