Why do you use leather with prominent character marks in the first place?
We only qualify Almost Perfect in terms of cosmetic irregularities that have absolutely no impact on the quality or durability of our products. Rather, we figured that it'd be a shame to waste such beautiful and functional leather, so we decided to sell it at a discounted price.
What type of imperfection will I get with this bag?
Each of our Almost Perfect bags is one of a kind! While we can't say for sure which one you'll receive, some common character marks our customers find are pebbling and color variation, scars and striations, or a stitch out of place. That being said, rest assured that none of these "imperfections" will impact the functionality of the bag in any way!

I love my crossbody tote in the color honey. The quality is exceptional and the leather smells divine. It is quite spacious without being too oversized. I am 5’6” slender build. I use it as a work bag for my wallet, iPad, and planner supplies. With all that, it still has space for a sweater and snacks. I am very pleased with my purchase. I ordered the AP version and thought it looked amazing. I have used it daily for the past week and will definitely purchase more from Portland Leather.

The quality of this bag is amazing. It is nice and sturdy which I wanted for my work bag so that when I set it down it doesn’t fall over. In my bag I can fit a 1inch thick textbook, several small reference guide books, 40 oz water bottle, phone, keys, wallet, small zip pouch, pair of dress flats. It’s pretty full with that but I’m using it to walk into and out of work- I don’t carry it around all day. The only downside is that the color doesn’t really match what I expected for ‘honey’ based on the website. However, if I was that disappointed I could return. I won’t because I love it! No blemishes that I could see.

The pistachio crossbody tote is a beautiful soft leather. It checks all the boxes in what I want in a bag. Outside pocket, inside pocket, zipper, D rings with removable crossbody strap, AND an adequate 11" strap drop so I can also shoulder carry. I've never filled it up all the way. It's a few inches taller than the medium crossbody tote. More than enough space for all I need to carry.
Rhubard is a gorgeous pink/purple leabong red! The FSCB is a great size for those who carry elctronics, files or just lots of stuff!
Love how soft the leather feels and how puddly coral is! I can fit so much and it doesn’t feel as heavy in comparison to other leathers.
Beautiful bag. Normally, I carry east west bags, but I couldn't resist the pistachio color. It's an easy bag to carry with enough room for everything you'll need for the day.
I love my Rhubarb Zip FSCB - it’s beautiful and pebbled perfection!! I purchased my first zip FSCB in Dakotah 7 months ago and lived out of it all summer and fall (she went to Chicago with me 3 times, up near the Canadian border 2 times and every weekend to our lake seasonal site). This bag does not disappoint!!
