Why do you use leather with prominent character marks in the first place?
We only qualify Almost Perfect in terms of cosmetic irregularities that have absolutely no impact on the quality or durability of our products. Rather, we figured that it'd be a shame to waste such beautiful and functional leather, so we decided to sell it at a discounted price.
What type of imperfection will I get with this bag?
Each of our Almost Perfect bags is one of a kind! While we can't say for sure which one you'll receive, some common character marks our customers find are pebbling and color variation, scars and striations, or a stitch out of place. That being said, rest assured that none of these "imperfections" will impact the functionality of the bag in any way!
What if I don't love my Almost Perfect bag?
Everything from our Almost Perfect collection (excluding Mystery Box bundles) falls under our usual return policy. For more detailed information, visit our Returns page.
Please note that our pebbled leather, like all of our leather, is a natural product. You may notice changes in grain or texture throughout your bag. Other companies artificially press a pebble texture into their leather. However, the pebbling of our leather is achieved naturally through an extra tumbling process which leaves some areas of the hide smoother than others.

I'm very VERY impressed. I've always been happy with all Portland Leather Goods products but this one was so perfect. I'm amazed at the quality of the leather and workmanship. This will hold up for years. I've already added it to my travel cases and it replaced an old yucky cloth Dopp Kit. So pleased these are available again. A gift for my husband. He immediately recognized the brand from the packaging and then he was so happy with the leather quality and the design (and he is quite picky)!! AP looks perfect, probably it was marked AP because the stitches seem pulling? Not sure. The honey dye seems darker than my Lola but same undertone.

These are high-quality toiletry bags, great gifts for anyone, but manly enough for the men in your life. I purchased 3 — one for my husband for his recent birthday, and one each for my brother and my dad for Christmas. My husband absolutely LOVED his. He had been using a ratty fabric bag to store his electric razor and other items. That was tossed and his items moved right into the Canyon Dopp kit. He especially loves the Canyon color as its multiple colors allow it to hide most bumps or scrapes etc. I love the Canyon because it’s fun to bend and watch it change colors!
