Our durable leather goods are unlined, featuring the natural suede side of the hide. Because leather is a natural material, slight color and batch variations are normal. Factors like hide age, season, and dye absorption can all affect the final shade, making each piece uniquely yours.
Our leather is incredibly easy to care for. With time and use, the natural oils in the leather will rise to the surface, developing a beautiful patina and smoothing any scuffs or scratches that may have accumulated. Learn more about caring for your new leather product.
Full Grain: Meticulously sourced from the finest hides, this premium material boasts unique textures and character, showcasing nature's artistry at its best. As time passes, watch as its surface develops a unique patina, telling your personal journey through the years. Unlike processed leathers, full grain leather stands the test of time, due to its unmatched strength and resilience. Its dense fibers offer exceptional resistance to wear, cuts, and moisture, our full grain leather ensures lasting beauty that only gets better with age.
Top Grain: Top-grain starts from the same premium zone of the hide but is lightly sanded and finished for a more uniform surface. That light correction softens and evens the face while keeping most of the strength you want. Takes pigment and protective finishes beautifully, which helps with colorfastness and stain resistance. Ages gracefully, especially when we keep the finish thin enough to let the leather breathe and break in.
We use top-grain when a smoother cosmetic is the goal—think color consistency across large panels—without walking away from the core strength you expect from a Portland bag.
Pebbled: Unlike most brands that use artificial stamping methods to create patterns, our pebbled leather is achieved through a natural tumbling process. The distinctive raised, pebble-shaped texture adds sophistication and makes a bold statement wherever you go. But it's not just about looks—pebbled leather is built to last. Worried about daily wear and tear? Don’t be! The unique pebbled surface ages gracefully, developing a natural patina that will evolve for years to come!
Suede: Our suede leather begins with an intricate process: the hide is split to separate the soft underside from the top layer. This top layer is then tanned, buffed, sanded, and dyed to create the signature velvety texture that defines high-quality suede. Naturally slouchy and pliable, suede leather ages gracefully, developing a rich patina that tells its own story over time. Most natural imperfections are gently smoothed away during production, while subtle traces—like healed veining and the soft, napped surface—are preserved to celebrate the leather’s unique character and charm.
Because leather is a natural material, slight color and batch variations are normal. Factors like hide age, season, and dye absorption can all affect the final shade—making each piece uniquely yours.

Perfect Small Bag
by: Linda D.
This is a perfect small bag. Even though it is small, it fits all your necessities. I purchased it in Fox glove color and it is beautiful. I can’t wait to show it off during my European adventures! Highly recommend!
My new fav!!
by: Becky
I’ve been in the “camp mini cb” for years, but this metro mini has now claimed that spot. I absolutely love the design - simple and classy. The magnetic closure is strong enough that if tipped over, my belongings don’t fall out because it stays closed. And, I love that the strap is removable so I can use a different strap to match outfits. It’s small but mighty! It holds all my essentials (wallet, phone, keys, pen, and small pouch of beauty items) and doesn’t cause lower back pain. It’s perfect!! I’ve already got other colors in my cart. Thanks PLG! 😊
Perfection
by: Rachel S.
I have 4 other PLG bags and I love them all. However, there is something so special about this bag! The leather is like butter. The color is divine. Its shimmer is mesmerizing, and the size is perfection. It was a birthday present from my family and I think it’s the best gift yet. I keep making people feel it and smell it. I’m devoted to this bag.
Absolutely in love!
by: Jennifer P.
My ruby Medium Metro from Portland Leather Goods is stunning-the perfect bold pop of color! The leather is soft, the quality is top-notch, and it’s already a staple in my daily routine. Stylish, practical, and beautifully made ❤️

Gift to Neice! Mini Metro in ColdBrew
by: Chrystal P.
The Mini Metro was the perfect purse for my 13 year old niece! She loves it!
Tough and cute
by: Ashley P.
I love Portland Leather because purses like this one strike the perfect balance between tough enough to handle every day tasks but cute enough to take literally anywhere; perfect for everything from the office to a fancy dinner. 10/10 no notes!
Cute little purse!
by: Heidi M.
I was looking for a small purse that was still practical and could fit my essentials. This hit it on the spot! I got the mini metro in honey. Coordinates with almost everything, wears nicely. I was surprised how much I can get in it. All the things in the pic plus my iPhone 17 pro max…with room for more! Don’t think twice, get you one of these! (Or more) 🙂
Perfect little purse! I love this purse
by: Kara C.
Perfect little purse! I love this purse. HI wish I could afford all the colors. Holds everything I need and not one thing more! I may purchase a medium next time.

Perfect size! I am loving this crossbody purse
by: Diane J.
Perfect size! I am loving this crossbody purse. It is small but large enough to carry all my essentials. The leather grain in supple and the stitching is sturdy.
Wish I had bought this style sooner!
by: Lori A.
I was hesitant to try this bag because I was concerned it would be too small… but the medium provides a lot of room to carry my essentials and it has become my every day carry this summer. This is a medium Aruba, and it is wonderful!
Meadow -Metro Crossbody SO SWEEEEEEEET! Metro Crossbody
by: Jenn V.
Meadow is a perfect leather & shaped into the Metro Crossbody is SO SWEEEEEEEET! Metro Crossbody is perfect for phone, wallet, lipstick, keys, & my travelers calendar!— & so easy to carry. LOVE IT!!
It’s a Perfect Size
by: Erin D.
I got the grizzly color mini crossbody with the mini Daisy wallet. They match perfectly and I love the color. The bag can hold a phone, wallet, and a few more small, miscellaneous items or a small tissue packet, for example. It also has this great little pouch on the inside that I found perfectly holds flat bills. I didn’t know I needed that! It’s light, and it’s the perfect size for what I need. The raw leather on the inside is a luxurious touch because it feels like a handmade item. The magnetic closure is sufficient, and the strap is long enough to use it as a crossbody, as advertised.
