Why do you use leather with prominent character marks in the first place?
We only qualify Almost Perfect in terms of cosmetic irregularities that have absolutely no impact on the quality or durability of our products. Rather, we figured that it'd be a shame to waste such beautiful and functional leather, so we decided to sell it at a discounted price.
What type of imperfection will I get with this bag?
Each of our Almost Perfect bags is one of a kind! While we can't say for sure which one you'll receive, some common character marks our customers find are pebbling and color variation, scars and striations, or a stitch out of place. That being said, rest assured that none of these "imperfections" will impact the functionality of the bag in any way!

I love my crossbody tote in the color honey. The quality is exceptional and the leather smells divine. It is quite spacious without being too oversized. I am 5’6” slender build. I use it as a work bag for my wallet, iPad, and planner supplies. With all that, it still has space for a sweater and snacks. I am very pleased with my purchase. I ordered the AP version and thought it looked amazing. I have used it daily for the past week and will definitely purchase more from Portland Leather.

The quality of this bag is amazing. It is nice and sturdy which I wanted for my work bag so that when I set it down it doesn’t fall over. In my bag I can fit a 1inch thick textbook, several small reference guide books, 40 oz water bottle, phone, keys, wallet, small zip pouch, pair of dress flats. It’s pretty full with that but I’m using it to walk into and out of work- I don’t carry it around all day. The only downside is that the color doesn’t really match what I expected for ‘honey’ based on the website. However, if I was that disappointed I could return. I won’t because I love it! No blemishes that I could see.

I also thought this tote was maybe too large - it holds a lot but also puddles and slouches down when not full. And the color is bringing me so much unexpected joy!
