Our durable leather goods are unlined, featuring the natural suede side of the hide. Since fabric-lined bags inevitably discolor and tear with use, we chose to showcase the soft sueded underside of our hides, ensuring that your bag lasts a lifetime.
Because leather is a natural material, slight color and batch variations are normal. Factors like hide age, season, and dye absorption can all affect the final shade—making each piece uniquely yours.
SMALL: Great for those that travel light on the daily – it can fit a water bottle, snacks, book, wallet, and sunglasses comfortably. Measures 11” wide across the bottom, 13” wide across the top, 4.5” deep and 11.5” tall.
MEDIUM: Can fit a water bottle, snacks, a book, wallet, sunglasses and a 13” Macbook snugly. Measured 11.5” wide across the bottom, 15” wide across the top, 5.5” deep, and 12” tall.
LARGE: Fits a water bottle, snacks, book, wallet, sunglasses, back-up shirt, and a 15” Macbook snugly. Measures 13” wide across the bottom, 18” wide across the top, 6” deep, and 12” tall.
OVERSIZED: Fits all that plus a pair of jeans and a larger laptop comfortably. Measures 14” wide across the bottom, 21” wide across the top, 6” deep, and 13” tall.
The drop length for all of our handles is 10.5” regardless of the size of the tote, and suits most!

INSIDE & OUTSIDE POCKET: All totes have an inside pocket that measures approximately 6” x 8” – great for a smartphone and some lip balm, as well as an outside pocket for easy storage.
KEY LOOP: A standard feature of all totes – no more digging around for your keys!
FULL-GRAIN LEATHER: Our leather is the highest quality full-grain chap and English bridle leather available. We only use hides as a byproduct of the beef industry, we like to think that we're helping to minimize waste by using hides that may otherwise be wasted. This kind of leather will never look flawless, as it hasn't been covered in any kind of plastic coating. Don’t worry about keeping the tote perfect - the best part about 100% full-grain leather is that it just gets better with age.
UNLINED AND OPEN INTERIOR: Our Tote Bags are unlined, featuring the natural suede underside of the leather on the inside. We use full-grain, oil-tanned leather that is incredibly durable and water tight – it's the same quality of leather that is used in making boots, saddles, and all manner of made-to-last, all-weather leather goods!

This is my first PLG purchase, and I am simply stunned by the thickness, quality, color, and smell of the leather - pictures don't do it justice!! This is the small zippered tote in honey. I am a tiny individual (4'11" with short little t-rex arms lol) and I'm usually not a tote person because I find them to be oversized on me. But the small is perfect for me! I love how PLG offers so many different sizes!!! I took some photos with the tote in case it helps my fellow shorties out there. :)

In case you’re like me, looking at reviews to help make the “right purchase”, here it is. I ordered the Large Tote in Cognac with a zipper hoping for the perfect work bag that could be versatile. The large fits a 13in Mac with LOTS of space around it (I tested my husbands 15in Mac it fits, but won’t zip), a hardcover journal or two, a hydro flask (all sizes- sometimes two, one for water and one for coffee), snack, and electronics bag, plus wallet. My favorite feature is the key hook!! Overall, I’m definitely satisfied with my newest PLG bag, worth the purchase!
Lava is amazing

I got the OS tote with a zipper in Lava. Let me tell you, as pretty as you might think Lava is in the pictures, it's even prettier in person. I can tell this bag is going to age well. The OS tote holds my 16" MBP laptop (something I've been searching for for a long time), PLUS everything else I could need for a day away (for scale, in the interior image, the purse is a mini crossbody and what I believe an eclipse makeup bag). This leather is not slouchy but it isn't so stiff it feels plastic. I can see this will be a good travel bag. The handle drop is the perfect length for over the shoulder and (as a taller person), holding in my hands and not skimming the ground. As much as I love this bag, it's not an every day bag and probably isn't for everyone. I'm tall so the size is fine, but I could see it overwhelming someone shorter or petite. The handles are stiff and the edges could use a slight bevel. I'm hoping they will round out a little as I use the bag. And its a lot of leather which means this bag isn't light even before adding my laptop, purse and water bottle. While I will use it as I travel, it will not be an out-and-about sightseeing bag; it will be my to the airport to the hotel to the airport bag.

I decided to get a leather tote bag in Surf, as the colour really looked beautiful and fresh.
I was looking for a sustainable tote to replace all those ‘plastic bags for life’ - you know the heavy duty ones from stores that you can reuse many times, but let’s face it have NO sense of style and DO eventually get holes in them- and this Amazing Tote has been PERFECT for all my day to day running. It holds so much and has elevated my shopping experience every time I use it. Can’t LOVE it more! ;p
I had been thinking of buying a Portland Leather tote for quite a while, and finally decided to treat myself on Black Friday. Unfortunately, the bag I wanted was sold out, so I took a chance and ordered the “Almost Perfect” version. I was happily surprised that it was indeed almost perfect. Just a few little spots that I barely noticed. The bag is beautiful and seems to be very well made. I look forward to using it for years to come.
The bacalar tote I got is the prettiest green. Perfect to carry for the holidays. It is wonderfully soft and slouchy and yet stands up just fine on its own.
Bought the large Surf tote as a gift, but it's so beautiful I almost kept it for myself!
It's very roomy and the zipper will help keep her stuff safe.
I bought one for myself 8 months ago and I use it for a work bag. I get so many compliments on it. I’m now buying one for my mom for Christmas. The zipper option is awesome because I don’t have to worry about my stuff falling out if I place it down.
